Urban Perch's most recent eDesign is for the Mix's newest addition, making her special debut in December. Not only is this little girl entering into the world with two of the greatest (to be) parents, but now she has a sweet, non-thematic room to top it off.
Jess (baby Mix's mama) had picked out the furniture and bedding, and wanted some ideas for potential space layouts and decor to supplement the room.
I wanted to make sure the space was cozy and something the little lady could grow into. Jess is a dance coach and vice principal, so I thought it would be fun to infuse some dance elements within the space (without plastering the wall with ballet slippers).
Baby Mix's new space plan is below (two were included - one with the sofa, one without), and you can find her Urban Perch designed Pinterest board here.
A few project details:
Avoid: Anything too thematic
Likes: Gray and Yellow
Style: Contemporary, Transitional
Existing furniture: Crib, Dresser, Sofa and Rocker
There are a lot of "favorites" in this design scheme. But two of my favorite finds are this "Foods Before Dudes" print from Scout Mob.
And this linen pillow also available from Scout Mob.

Catfish | Aviator Lounge Chair
Oh, Restoration Hardware. I love you. But you're so often out of my league.
I've been shopping for an eDesign client and recently fell in love with RH's Aviator Chair. At $1355 (on sale), it's a little spendy. But such a statement piece!
So we did a little digging. What did we find?
The Accelerator Vintage Tobacco Leather Chair. For $559.99. A little smaller in depth, and the leather doesn't look quite as warn, but it has good reviews!
Score!

eDesign | Henry's Big Boy Room
Urban Perch's most recent e-design is for Brenna's 2-1/2 year old son, Henry (who should start a career in toddler modeling immediately). Henry was in need of a big boy room as he and his family prepare for the arrival of his baby sister.
Brenna had picked out Henry's Busy Builder sheeting from Pottery Barn and his Little Treasures Mates bed from Target. She also had an existing red bookshelf (that I love).
The rest of the design was free reign, and I wanted to make sure we tapped into Henry's creative spirit and saw the building "theme" throughout. As usual, I wanted this to be a room he could grow into so I found some graphic art prints that could be used on a gallery wall and were appropriate for babies and big boys alike!
Henry's new space plan is below, and you can find his Urban Perch designed Pinterest board here.
A few project details:
Avoid: Pink
Likes: Navy, White and Red
Style: Traditional, Vintage
Space Issues: Storage and a place to play
Existing furniture: Bed, Bookshelf, Carpet
Everything in this room is graphic and fun, and better yet, affordable (insert virtual Frederik high kick)!
My favorite pieces are the three-dimensional tool pillows from Etsy, the nightstand options from both Land of Nod and Urban Outfitters, and the nightstand lamp options from Target and Urban Outfitters.
I also love the idea of transforming an affordable dresser with more expensive hardware.

eDesign | Lia and Jon's Master
Please welcome Chu and Lou to the stage, formerly known as Lia and Jon.
Chu and Lou recently moved into their Portland home and one of their first endeavors was painting the Master a gorgeous navy (tip from the homeowners: primer is not an up sell tactic).
I'm not sure who is Chu and who is Lou, so I'll just say that Lia was concerned the room was going to go too Americana or Nautical and wanted some help.
Chu and Lou's new space plan is below, and you can find their Urban Perch designed Pinterest board here. I moved their bed in order to open the room up a bit and create a seating area for reading or relaxing.
Hurry and look soon! Many items selected were from Gilt and are available for a limited amount of time.
A few project details:
Avoid: Orange, Pea Green, Silver, Maroon
Likes: Navy, White, Pinks
Style: Shabby Chic, Vintage, Industrial, Eclectic
Want the room to feel: Clean and inviting with a touch of romance
Existing furniture: Bed and Dresser
I love pairing navy and black. I think it can look rich (as in plush/opulent, not as in Trump). So the first order of business was the recommendation to paint/stain their existing bed and dresser black (it's a light pine).
This room has me swooning. I love how eclectic it feels. The textures are so much fun and perfect for a young couple! My favorite pieces are the Meloni Armchair from Home Decorators Collection (amazing price and review history), the Texture Study print from Gilt, and the Lisa Congdon designed triangle wallcovering.

eDesign | Baby E
I am always so happy to hear when friends are expecting their first baby. There is so much joy, nervousness and love built into the news that it makes for an exciting mix of emotions!
I've seen Lindsey and Rob's relationship blossom (yes, I said blossom) throughout the years (college, long distance, DC, and now Alabama) and couldn't be happier for them. Their little one is going to be one lucky gal (awesome parents and good genes, what?!).
Baby E's new space plan is below, and you can find her Urban Perch designed Pinterest board here.
A few project details:
Avoid: Too much color
Likes: Gray, White and Ballerina Pink
Style: Traditional, Shabby Chic
Space Issues: Make sure to fit the full bed
Existing furniture: Bed and Crib
Linds had picked out the bedding and palette, and the bed and crib were existing. I wanted to make the two areas separate and also wanted to introduce furniture that the baby could grow into.
I also stalked Pottery Barn (meaning I called them) to figure out what grays they used in some of their bedroom sets.
I love how girly and sophisticated the room feels. My favorite pieces have to be the lamb mobile available on Etsy, the Rifle Paper Co prints (the bobby pin one is adorbs), and the Head in the Clouds throw pillow by land of nod just makes me smile.

eDesign | Katie and Joe's Master
Katie and Joe recently moved into their new home, and while Katie had purchased a few, key beautiful furniture pieces, the room was ultimately a blank slate.
One of the things I love to do when getting to know a client is look at their Pinterest boards in order to get a better idea of their personal style, tastes and interests. Katie's personal board was no exception. While she loves Spanish/Mediterranean furniture, the textures and colors I saw on her personal board were soothing and spa like, and gorgeous!
Katie and Joe's new space plan is below, and their Urban Perch designed Pinterest board here.
A few project details:
Avoid: Clutter, Black, Red, Silver
Likes: Neutrals, Spanish style
Style: Spanish/Mediterranean
Space Issues: Keep space clean lined
Existing furniture: Dresser, Side Tables, Headboard/Footboard
I created a very clean floor plan and avoided clutter and excess furniture. The idea was to keep the palette neutral, a contemporary Mediterranean feel. The gallery wall concept opposite the current window (and eventual french door) is a visual, graphic addition that adds interest without being overwhelming.
Some of my favorite things in the room are the Wayfair Jeffan Juliette Coco Side Table. I also love the Belo Grey Queen Sheet Set from Crate and Barrel and the DIY from This Old House on how to age a terracotta potter.
What are your favorite pieces? Do you prefer a neutral palette to color?

eDesign | Kenny's Bedroom
When Liz reached out about her son Kenny's bedroom, I was so excited! There's something so fun about creating a kids room. I think it's knowing how much imagining and creating will take place in the space.
Kenny is two and a half, and with a baby on the way, his parents needed to give him his own space. His room was on the smaller side, so storage had to be maximized and he also had to have room to play.
Kenny's new space plan is below, and you can find his Urban Perch designed Pinterest board here.
The solution was to create two areas. One for sleeping, and one for playing. The play area would have creative storage solutions and I also wanted to hide the play area from the main entry so that if it was a little messy, it wasn't the first thing you saw.
A few project details:
Avoid: Anything too cheesy
Likes: Gray, White and Navy
Style: Traditional Modern
Space Issues: Lack of space, need storage
Existing furniture: None, but the client liked Restoration Hardware's Haven Bed and Dresser
Kenny is a baseball fan, and Liz (his Mom) wanted that to tie into the theme without being too cheesy. She wanted his room to look like it was out of a catalog (lucky boy!).
The furniture pieces by Restoration Hardware are gorgeous, but I wanted to tie in baseball elements without being over the top. I also wanted to mix and match textures and colors and make it visually appealing. I'm thinking this is a room he can grow into.
I'm really loving this room, but some of my favorite pieces have to be the hopscotch rug by CB2 and the baseball pillow available on Etsy. Also a fan of the large vintage baseball poster to be used on the far wall a graphic art piece. Baseball without cheese.

eDesign | Michelle's Master Bedroom
The first e-design project is complete!
Check out Michelle's Master Bedroom. Her new space plan is below, and you can find her Urban Perch designed Pinterest board here (love that she's already started adding to it!).
A few project details:
Avoid: Mustard, Lime, Peach, Pink
Likes: Warm Tones
Style: Modern/Contemporary
Space Issues: Open Concept Bathroom
Existing furniture: Dressers and Bed
I would describe Michelle's style as comfortable contemporary. Think cozy furnishings, warm colors, and clean lines.
I used charcoal blue accents to add texture and color, and to tie in the attached bath. Love, love, love the sliding door to create some bathroom privacy. Also obsessed with the Urban Outfitters side tables (they sell more than t-shirts?) and the Personalized Family Pillow from Uncommon Goods!
The Jonathan Adler tic-tac-toe is just calling for a DIY alternative.
