Concept | Open Kitchen Shelving

Yup, I'm still working on our kitchen floors.  The good news?  I'll think about that and get back to you.

I've been looking at kitchen pictures for some inspiration.  And, well, for a break.  One thing I've been seeing a lot of is open kitchen shelving.  Which I'm sort of digging.

See below for some of my favs.

What do you think?  Would you want people to be able to see into your cabinets?

Concept | Dining Room Tables

Lets talk dining room tables.  I need a new tabletop.  I started to sand my existing one down to refinish it, and the veneer started to peel up.  What to do now?

The base is in good shape, so I started to look for inspiration.

Check, check, check it out.

Galvanized Pedestal table from Anthropologie is gorgeous.  The galvanized zinc top makes this a statement piece.

We just opened an account with Noir Furniture for our private clients and I love, love, love their Ferret Dining Table.  Chunky legs never looked so good.

I've been following Rocky Mountain Table Co. on Instagram for a few months now, and their work never ceases to amaze me.  This handmade Farmhouse table on Etsy is just one example.

Concept | Seeing Stairs!

We just carpeted our basement.  Which, 1. Makes it a million times less creepy, and 2. Makes me want to paint all of it.

Especially our stairs!

So I started looking around for some inspiration.  And voila!  Here's what I found!

Stay tuned for our stair before and after.

Which one is your favorite?

Concept | Sneaker Head Barbershop

I've recently traded in my heels for sneakers.  I blame it on Portland.  And my husband.  His love for sneakers is contagious (and consuming our closet space).

One of my recent projects was a conceptual design, space plan and multi-sensory brand package for a 90's hip hop inspired barbershop chain in Los Angeles.  Go ahead and re-read that again and then I'll translate into non designer jargon.

I put together some pictures and drawings that showed what a 90's inspired barbershop could look like.  And then I tried to figure out how to tap into customers senses.

I like to think of it as a barbershop for sneaker heads.

Here are a few images that were used as a nod to the 90's (I can't show all of them for obvious reasons - they want you to see it installed).  No west coast east coast drama here.  All love (including my clients').

Concept | Wedding Details

Hi, I'm Sophia and I'm obsessed with details.  And planning.  And Mexico.

I've spent the majority of my career styling spaces.  It only made sense for me to be a little controlling over my own wedding tablescapes and details, right?  I'm imagining you nodding in agreement.

We were married in Mexico, but I didn't want it to be too thematic.  I mean, yeah, mariachis were a must (and tequila), but I wanted it to feel organic and authentic (think beachy - driftwood and succulents).  Like a big dinner party.  With candles.  Lots of candles.

I wanted each space to feel a bit different, but I wanted continuity.

It was a challenge to convey what I wanted from a country away.  So I created concept sheets (challenge accepted).

See below for the "before" (concept sheets) and "after" (space installed).  I loved the detail of it all.  This is a taste of what I do for clients in order to help them visually describe their space to potential investors and contractors.

What do you think?  Where do you find your wedding inspiration?  Want help with a wedding or event concept?  Holler.
